Privacy Policy
blameai.dev plots a developer's public GitHub activity against the timeline of AI releases. This page explains what personal data that involves, why we process it, and how to have yours removed.
Who is responsible
This site is an independent project operated by its owner, who is the data controller. For any privacy request, or to identify the operator, email casting_flicks4i@icloud.com.
What we process
Only information returned by the official GitHub API: your username, display name, avatar, public bio, public repositories, and contribution-calendar activity (counts over time). If you sign in with GitHub, we use read-only OAuth (read:user) so GitHub can include contribution counts available to your account. We never read, store, or transmit your code or repository contents.
Why (legal basis)
We process this data on the basis of legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — providing a visualization built on already-public developer activity. We've weighed this against your rights, and you can object or ask for removal at any time (see below); we'll honour it.
How long
Computed graphs are cached for up to about 7 days. Reference data for featured developers and repositories is kept until you ask us to remove it, or until it's no longer used.
Who else is involved
Data originates from GitHub. Hosting, database, and infrastructure are provided by third-party providers acting as processors on our behalf; we can identify them on request. Some of them may process data outside your country, under appropriate safeguards. Analytics providers are named below under Cookies and analytics, since one of them only receives anything if you say so. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
Two things are set without asking, because the site cannot work without them: a session cookie if you sign in with GitHub, and a short-lived preference recording your answer to the question below so you are not asked twice. Neither is used to profile you.
For page statistics we use Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookie and stores no identifier that follows you between visits, and Google Analytics, which does — a _ga cookie identifying your browser for up to two years.
Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you accept it. Not loaded quietly in a disabled state — the script is never fetched, so nothing about your visit, including your IP address, reaches Google. Declining costs you nothing: every feature behaves identically. You can change your mind from the Cookies link at the bottom of any page, and declining after having accepted also deletes the cookie that was set. Advertising and personalisation signals are refused in all cases — we do not advertise and never asked for them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, and you can object to our processing (including profiling). You can also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these, just email us.
Remove me
No questions, no friction. Email casting_flicks4i@icloud.com and we'll remove your profile promptly and keep it out going forward.
Children
This site is not directed at children. If you believe a minor's data appears here, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page.
